Tis the season of goodwill and remember if you don’t have Christmas in your heart.you will not find it under the christmas tree.

There are many’ politically correct’ statements used in almost every avenue of your life and christmas is no exception .The following poem may well encourage a wry smile.

Twas the night before Christmas and Santa was a wreck.

How to live in a world that’s politically correct.

His workers no longer would answer to ‘Elves’.

“Vertically challenged” they were calling themselves.

And labour conditions at the North Pole,

were alleged by the union to stifle the soul.

Four reindeer had vanished without much properiety,

released to the wilds,by humane society.

And equal employment had made it quite clear,

that Santa had best not use just reindeer.

So Dancer and Donna,Comet and Cupid

were replaced with 4 pigs and you know that looked stupid.

So . . . . half of the reindeer were gone, and his wife

who suddenly said she’d had enough of this life

joined a self help group,packed and left in a whiz,

demanding from now on her title was Ms.

No football,no baseball,someone might get hurt

besides,playing sports exposed kids to dirt.

Dolls were said to be sexist and should be passe

and Nintendo would rot your entire brain away.

So,Santa just stood there,disheveled and perplexed,

he just couldn’t figure out what to do next?

His sack was quite empty,it was flat to the ground,

nothing fully acceptable was anywhere to be found.

Not many photos,logos or colourful entries within the posts i pop onto my blog ,yet i think you will agree words paint a thousand pictures.

Two days of bliss with Mr – - – - – - – -   who was thoughtful,respectful and certainly enjoyed the finer things in life.(As  with the protocol i follow i do on each occasion only meet with such gentlemen )

A birthay(yes,mine)was celebrated over those two days,being pampered,not forgetting shopping in Harrods.

Kensington has so much to offer:

One evening dining at The Ledbury and the next enjoying Italian cuisine on a visit to Aspleys. 

Daytime was spent as mentioned above shopping and we also visited Kensington Gardens, strolling along absorbing every peaceful moment.

And late into the evening after each stunning meal at two fabulous restaurants i would not divulge any of our private and memorable moments.

Two days  which flew by as only two days can when like minds meet x x              

On returning from a recent(overdue)visit to friends in Hampshire and reading through a backlog of emails,a similar question cropped up in more than half a dozen of those emails.

Question.

Would i consider travelling to London?

Would i consider travelling to York?

Would i consider travelling to Harrogate?

Would i consider travelling to  Oxford?

Would i consider travelling to Bath?

 The answer would be ‘yes’ i would travel to all of the above areas.

You may have spent  many hours travelling on those hectic motorways and then  having to attend that  necessary conference and lengthy business meetings and a need to unwind in relaxed surroundings is of course is given a  priority.

http://www.lucknampark.co.uk    This particular hotel has the benefit of an equestrian centre,a visit to enjoy a ‘saddle and spa’ break over two days was so refreshing.The spa was a thorough treat after horse riding through  5 acres surrounding this hotel.

London has of course many 4 and 5 star hotels,The Savoy, The Goring etc.,

All of the above hotels house the finest of restaurants.

York courtesy of Mr —– who, during his business trip  which covers 2 days(22nd/23rd Sept). He described(once, necessary if somewhat stressful meetings were complete)  would be much more relaxed, were i to join him. 

The peaceful villages and picturesque market towns,a refreshing change to the hustle and bustle of major cities. 

The Liquid Art Gallery will be one of the ‘must’ visit venues(a favourite artist at this gallery-David Barrow-where fine examples of his artwork are displayed,take a peek at the website  http://www.liquidartgallery.co.uk  ) 

Mr —–  has  mentioned two of his/my favourite restaurants which are a mere 60 minute drive from York city.

French classical cuisine  at  http://www.theboxtree.co.uk 

Also http://www.yorke-arms.co.uk   both michellin starred.

Mr —– giving as much importance to relaxation,as he does to his busy,busy schedule. 

Suffice to say mentioning an exact hotel would not be at all discreet, it is a hidden gem and will stay that way.
